About NY Tech Alliance

Our mission at the NY Tech Alliance is to support the technology community and ecosystem in our hometown, with the goal of creating the most diverse, equitable and accessible tech ecosystem in the world. We work every day to connect businesses, startups, entrepreneurs, organizations, educational institutions, government, and people from all parts of the New York City tech ecosystem to the resources and networks they need to grow, serve, and be successful.

We are proud to work in New York City, a city of immigrants where over 600 languages are spoken every day. To this extent, we understand the importance of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and seek to make the New York City tech ecosystem representative of the city it serves. Whether you are an immigrant, a woman, black or brown, or LGBTQ+, we provide a platform for both early-stage and experienced technologists and founders to find, navigate, build, and connect with the greatest available opportunities.

The NY Tech Alliance was founded in 2016 and continues the work of its predecessor organizations: NY Tech Council and NY Tech Meetup. We are led by Executive Director, Andy Saldaña, and Chaired by Thatcher Bell. Our monthly NY Tech Meetup gives a platform to founders, startups, and companies to showcase their work to the community, with a particular focus on the technology itself and its potential use and implications. We also sponsor educational and social events centered on the tech ecosystem, as well as programming and advocacy efforts on issues valued by the tech community.

Our History

Ny tech alliance meetup

NY Tech Alliance was created through the merger of NY Tech Meetup and the New York Technology Council. NY Tech Meetup was first founded as a Meetup group in 2004, with the organization becoming an independent non-profit in 2010. The New York Technology Council was founded in 2009 as a non-profit organization focused on developing and promoting the technology industry in New York City. The two organizations then merged together in 2016 to form the NY Tech Alliance. Today, the organization has over 60,000 individual and institutional members, reflecting the full spectrum of the greater New York area tech community and making it the largest tech organization in the region.
